Development House launches Info-Activism How-To Guide

Sana’a - Sunday, December 15th, 2013, Development House (DH) launched today its new “Info-Activism How-To Guide" in partnership with the Tactical Tech Collective (TTC). The guide comes as a translation of the English version of which has already produced by TTC as an added value to the Arab library as a Info-Activism How-To Guide which offers strategies and tools for organizing campaigns

The guild is a plan of action for any individual, institution or group considering campaigns for various issues using digital tools and want to learn from these tools or inspiration from the Arab and international experiences and apply them in their local communities. The guide has been developed at three levels of results that planned by the organizers of the campaigns: to raise awareness about the issue with the public, to get deeply involvement in the issue, or to push the public towards the implementation of an action

بيت التنمية يدشن دليل عملي للنشاط المعلوماتي

صنعاء – الاحد 15 ديسمبر 2013، دشن اليوم بيت التنمية اصدارها الجديد "الدليل العملي للنشاط المعلوماتي" بالشراكة مع منظمة تكتل تك. ويأتي الدليل كترجمة للنسخة الانجليزية التي سبق انتاجها عبر منظمة تكتكل تك كإضافة قيمة للمكتبة العربية كدليل عملي للنشاط المعلوماتي يقدم استراتيجيات وأدوات لتنظيم الحملات.

ويشكل الدليل خطة عمل لأي فرد أو مؤسسة أو جماعه تفكر في أطلاق حملات لقضاياها المختلفة باستخدام الادوات الرقمية وترغب في التعلم من هذه الادوات او الاستلهام من التجارب العربية والدولية وتطبيقها في مجتمعاتها المحلية. وقد تم وضع الدليل على ثلاث مستويات من النتائج التي يخطط لها منظمو الحملات: لرفع الوعى حول قضية مع الجمهور، أو للحصول على مشاركة عميقة في قضية ما، او لدفع الجمهور باتجاه تنفيذ عمل ما.

وقد صرح الاستاذ نبيل أحمد الخضر الدير التنفيذي للمؤسسة "أن هذا الدليل يعد امتدادا لعمل بيت التنمية المتخصص وذو التركيز على الجوانب التقنية ودرجه تداخلها وتأثيرها على النشاط في مجال الحقوق والحريات والتنمية في اليمن بالإضافة الى دورها المهم في سد الفجوة المعرفية في مجال النشاط المعلوماتي من خلال ترجمه أهم الأدلة والكتب وجعلها متاحة للناشط العربي مع وعد أكيد باستمرارنا في هذا المجال وضمن هذه الرؤية المختلفة عن السائد في اليمن ".

وبإمكان المهتمين من المنظمات والافراد الحصول على نسخة مطبوعة عبر ارسال بريد الالكتروني الى na@thedh.org وسيكون هذا الدليل متوفرا بنسخة الكترونية على موقع المؤسسة.

تدشين مخيم جدران للنشطاء والصحفيين الشباب في اليمن

ضمن برنامج جدران يعقد بيت التنمية بالتعاون مع بيت الحرية فعاليات المخيم التدريبي الاول للصحفيين والنشطاء الشباب من صنعاء وعدن وتعز والذى سيستمر من 25/10/2013 الى 30/10/2013م.

ويهدف البرنامج إلى التشبيك وبناء قدرات ثلاثين من الصحفيين والنشطاء الشباب من الجنسين من صنعاء وعدن وتعز في مجالات تتعلق بالحق في التعبير والحق في الحصول على المعلومة, كما ويسعى المشروع إلى إكساب المشاركين مهارات وتكتيكات واستراتيجيات في المناصرة الإلكترونية والامن الرقمي.

وقد ذكر الاستاذ نبيل أحمد الخضر منسق المشروع أن التدريب يهدف الى تقديم معلومات ومهارات جديدة تعمل على استثمار الانترنت والنشاط المعلوماتي في إثراء الشارع اليمنى بحملات واستراتيجيات عملية تواكب أو تثرى الحركة المجتمعية في الوقت الحاضر على اعتبار أن العمل على أرض الواقع يحتاج الى كشف وإثراء وتوثيق و ايضا مجموعه من الاعمال الموازية على الانترنت ليصبح أكثر احترافية وتأثير ووصول للفئات المستهدفة.

الجدير بالذكر ان بيت التنمية هو مؤسسة غير حكومية تأسس تلبية لحاجة المجتمع المدني إلى الدعم وبناء القدرات المؤسسية والترويج للفرص والموارد. يقوم بيت التنمية بتقديم خدمات الاستشارات والتدريب للمنظمات والأفراد عبر عدد من البرامج التدريبية والملبية لاحتياج المجتمع المدني وبما يعزز من دوره, ويعتبر بيت التنمية أول منظمة متخصصة بالإعلام الجديد في اليمن "الجيل الثاني من الانترنت". ويسعى بيت التنمية إلى أن يكون الرائد في تمكين المنظمات للقيام بدورها تجاه المجتمع في أحداث التغيير الإيجابي.

Development House completed training of sixty activists and journalists in the digital security skills

On Monday 10th December 2012, Development House (DH) concluded the 8th training workshop about digital security, which lasted for 3 days for a number of activists and journalists within the program of Digital Security, which began its activities during the period between September to December 2012 in collaboration with Aswat – a program funded by the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI). 

“By end of this workshop, the program has completed training nearly sixty trainees” Mr. Nabil Al-Khadher, the program coordinator has stated in a closing statement. “The training provided the trainees with the concepts, information and skills on how to deal safely with various technology tools as part of DH programs which aimed to promote, and provide opportunities and resources; and capacity building for youth and organizations”. 

Mr. Al-Khadher has renewed his call for those interested – Youth and organizations – to send their applications via e-mail to ws@thedh.org, which will ensure they will be targeted in upcoming programs. 

It is worth mentioning that the Development House is a non-governmental organization established to respond to civil society needs for supporting, organizational capacity building, and promoting resources and opportunities. DH provides training and consultation services for individuals and organizations through plenty of training programs, which respond to the needs of the civil society and strengthen its role. DH considers itself the first organization which specialized in New Media “Web 2.0” in Yemen. Further, DH aims to be the pioneer in empowering organizations to play their role.

بيت التنمية يختتم تدريب ستين ناشط وصحفي في مهارات الامن الرقمي

أختتم بيت التنمية اليوم الاثنين الموافق 10 ديسمبر 2012 فعاليات الدورة التدريبية الثامنة والخاصة بالامن الرقمى والتي استمرت لمدة 3 أيام لعدد من النشطاء والإعلامين ضمن برنامج الامن الرقمى والذي ابتدات أنشطته خلال الفترة ما بين سبتمبر – ديسمبر 2012م بالتعاون مع برنامج اصوات الممول من المعهد الوطنى الديمقراطى للشئون الدولية.

وفى بيان الاختتام صرح الاستاذ نبيل الخضر – منسق المشروع - أنه باختتام هذه الدورة يكون البرنامج قد تم استكمال تدريب ما يقارب ستون متدربــ/ــة. قدم من خلالها مفاهيم ومعلومات ومهارات حول التعامل بأمان مع وسائل التكنولوجيا المختلفة ضمن برامج بيت التنمية والهادفة الى الترويج وتقديم الفرص والموارد وبناء القدارت للشباب والمنظمات.

هذا وقد جدد الخضر دعوتة للمهتمين بالانظمام لبرنامج بيت التنمية من الشباب والمنظمات لإرسال طلباتهم عبر الايميل التالي ws@thedh.org , والذي يضمن لهم استهدافهم في البرامج القادمة من خلال الدخول في قاعدة البيانات الخاصة بالمستهدفين بالبرامج المقدمة من بيت التنمية.

Launching the first electronic map to monitor cases of sexual harassment in the streets of Yemen

Safe Streets campaign against sexual harassment in the streets launches a map to monitor the phenomenon of sexual harassment in the Yemeni streets within the campaign which seeks to reduce this phenomenon that devastate the social cohesion of Yemeni. 

The campaign aims to monitor cases of harassment and encourage the community and women in particular to break the silence and talk about what is happening to them from harassment on the street in order to put pressure on decision makers to develop solutions to this devastating phenomenon of society. 

The campaign media officer, indicated that this e-observatory is working to empower community groups who are against women sexual harassment to report cases from anywhere in Yemen, and can send a short SMS from his/her mobile and/or emails about any harassment incident happened with them or any other person they know.

The map aims to monitor the places with a high incidence of harassment on the streets and the types of harassment. This map is the first step to move and to demand a law to protect women in the streets. It is like a database describes the size of the problem, and to help the policemen to be aware of the streets where the harassment cases are high when they distribute their forces to keep the streets safe from sexuall harassment.

Development House Raises the Awareness of Digital Security among Activists from Yemen and MENA Regain

Development House with cooperation of ONO was screening the series of Survival in the Digital Age during 21 April 2011 in Sana’a, Yemen; 4 May 2011 in Sana’a, Yemen; 25 May 2011 in Beirut, Lebanon.

This series of animated films aims to raise awareness about the digital traces we leave behind among activists from Yemen and MENA regain. Its main aim is to engage people in better understanding the information and communications technologies they are using, so that they can decide when and if they want to take risks.

Youth for change launches knowledge sharing event

At Ebhar Foundation for Childhood and Creativity, 7 September 2010, Development House Organization in collaboration with Bibliotheca Alexandrina and TakingItGlobal have conducted a workshop to exhibit projects and experience of some successful youth especially those who have gotten the grants from Youth for Change in Yemen in the following governorate of Sana’a, Aden, and Taiz. During this workshop, the youth exhibited and explained their success and difficulties they encountered during implementing their projects.

أحتفل اليوم الخميس 17 يونيو 2010 في مقر مؤسسة إبحار, بيت التنمية ومنظمة تكتل تك بعرض فلم "التكتيكات العشر في التحرك وذلك لأول مرة في اليمن". حضر عرض الفلم والنقاش عدد من النشطاء وخاصة الشباب.
" تأتي هذه الفعالية نتيجة للتعاون بين منظمة تكتكل تك وبيت التنمية, وتهدف لجعل الناس, والنشطاء, وخصوصا الشباب أكثر معرفة حول التكتيكات الجديدة لاستخدام التكنولوجيا وكيف يمكنهم تطبيقها على أرض الواقع وفي الحياة العملية بالإضافة لتطبيقها في المجتمع؟" فتحي الظافري مستشار أول في بيت التنمية باليمن.

Around 13 people including young men and women attended this celebration and the discussion seminar.
