Development House launches Info-Activism How-To Guide

Sana’a - Sunday, December 15th, 2013, Development House (DH) launched today its new “Info-Activism How-To Guide" in partnership with the Tactical Tech Collective (TTC). The guide comes as a translation of the English version of which has already produced by TTC as an added value to the Arab library as a Info-Activism How-To Guide which offers strategies and tools for organizing campaigns

The guild is a plan of action for any individual, institution or group considering campaigns for various issues using digital tools and want to learn from these tools or inspiration from the Arab and international experiences and apply them in their local communities. The guide has been developed at three levels of results that planned by the organizers of the campaigns: to raise awareness about the issue with the public, to get deeply involvement in the issue, or to push the public towards the implementation of an action

بيت التنمية يدشن دليل عملي للنشاط المعلوماتي

صنعاء – الاحد 15 ديسمبر 2013، دشن اليوم بيت التنمية اصدارها الجديد "الدليل العملي للنشاط المعلوماتي" بالشراكة مع منظمة تكتل تك. ويأتي الدليل كترجمة للنسخة الانجليزية التي سبق انتاجها عبر منظمة تكتكل تك كإضافة قيمة للمكتبة العربية كدليل عملي للنشاط المعلوماتي يقدم استراتيجيات وأدوات لتنظيم الحملات.

ويشكل الدليل خطة عمل لأي فرد أو مؤسسة أو جماعه تفكر في أطلاق حملات لقضاياها المختلفة باستخدام الادوات الرقمية وترغب في التعلم من هذه الادوات او الاستلهام من التجارب العربية والدولية وتطبيقها في مجتمعاتها المحلية. وقد تم وضع الدليل على ثلاث مستويات من النتائج التي يخطط لها منظمو الحملات: لرفع الوعى حول قضية مع الجمهور، أو للحصول على مشاركة عميقة في قضية ما، او لدفع الجمهور باتجاه تنفيذ عمل ما.

وقد صرح الاستاذ نبيل أحمد الخضر الدير التنفيذي للمؤسسة "أن هذا الدليل يعد امتدادا لعمل بيت التنمية المتخصص وذو التركيز على الجوانب التقنية ودرجه تداخلها وتأثيرها على النشاط في مجال الحقوق والحريات والتنمية في اليمن بالإضافة الى دورها المهم في سد الفجوة المعرفية في مجال النشاط المعلوماتي من خلال ترجمه أهم الأدلة والكتب وجعلها متاحة للناشط العربي مع وعد أكيد باستمرارنا في هذا المجال وضمن هذه الرؤية المختلفة عن السائد في اليمن ".

The Launch of Joddran Camp for Young Journalists and Activists in Yemen

Within the Program of Joddran ( literally means Walls in Arabic), Development House in cooperation with Freedom House has held the first training camp for journalists and youth activists from Sana'a, Aden, Taiz, which will run from 10/25/2013 to 10/30/2013.

The program aims for networking and building the capacity of thirty young male and female journalists and activists from Sana’a, Aden and Taiz in areas related to the right of expression and access to information, as well as, the project seeks to empower the participants with skills, tactics and strategies in digital advocacy and digital security.

"This training aims to provide information and new skills that invest the internet and the info-Activism in order to enrich the Yemeni streets with practical campaigns and strategies that keep track and feed the community movement at the present time", said the project coordinator, Mr. Nabil Ahmed ِAl-Khader. "The work on the ground needs detection, enrichment and documentation, besides to parallel collection of works on Internet to become more professional, effective and reach out to the target groups."

It is worth mentioning that the DH is a non-governmental organization founded to respond to the civil society needs for supporting, organizational capacity building, and promoting resources and opportunities. DH provides training and consultation services for individuals and organizations through plenty of training programs, which respond to the needs of the civil society and strengthen its role. DH considers itself the first organization which specialized in New Media “Web 2.0” in Yemen. Further, DH aims to be the pioneer in empowering organizations to play their role”

تدشين مخيم جدران للنشطاء والصحفيين الشباب في اليمن

ضمن برنامج جدران يعقد بيت التنمية بالتعاون مع بيت الحرية فعاليات المخيم التدريبي الاول للصحفيين والنشطاء الشباب من صنعاء وعدن وتعز والذى سيستمر من 25/10/2013 الى 30/10/2013م.

ويهدف البرنامج إلى التشبيك وبناء قدرات ثلاثين من الصحفيين والنشطاء الشباب من الجنسين من صنعاء وعدن وتعز في مجالات تتعلق بالحق في التعبير والحق في الحصول على المعلومة, كما ويسعى المشروع إلى إكساب المشاركين مهارات وتكتيكات واستراتيجيات في المناصرة الإلكترونية والامن الرقمي.

وقد ذكر الاستاذ نبيل أحمد الخضر منسق المشروع أن التدريب يهدف الى تقديم معلومات ومهارات جديدة تعمل على استثمار الانترنت والنشاط المعلوماتي في إثراء الشارع اليمنى بحملات واستراتيجيات عملية تواكب أو تثرى الحركة المجتمعية في الوقت الحاضر على اعتبار أن العمل على أرض الواقع يحتاج الى كشف وإثراء وتوثيق و ايضا مجموعه من الاعمال الموازية على الانترنت ليصبح أكثر احترافية وتأثير ووصول للفئات المستهدفة.

الجدير بالذكر ان بيت التنمية هو مؤسسة غير حكومية تأسس تلبية لحاجة المجتمع المدني إلى الدعم وبناء القدرات المؤسسية والترويج للفرص والموارد. يقوم بيت التنمية بتقديم خدمات الاستشارات والتدريب للمنظمات والأفراد عبر عدد من البرامج التدريبية والملبية لاحتياج المجتمع المدني وبما يعزز من دوره, ويعتبر بيت التنمية أول منظمة متخصصة بالإعلام الجديد في اليمن "الجيل الثاني من الانترنت". ويسعى بيت التنمية إلى أن يكون الرائد في تمكين المنظمات للقيام بدورها تجاه المجتمع في أحداث التغيير الإيجابي.

Development House completed training of sixty activists and journalists in the digital security skills

On Monday 10th December 2012, Development House (DH) concluded the 8th training workshop about digital security, which lasted for 3 days for a number of activists and journalists within the program of Digital Security, which began its activities during the period between September to December 2012 in collaboration with Aswat – a program funded by the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI). 

“By end of this workshop, the program has completed training nearly sixty trainees” Mr. Nabil Al-Khadher, the program coordinator has stated in a closing statement. “The training provided the trainees with the concepts, information and skills on how to deal safely with various technology tools as part of DH programs which aimed to promote, and provide opportunities and resources; and capacity building for youth and organizations”. 

Mr. Al-Khadher has renewed his call for those interested – Youth and organizations – to send their applications via e-mail to ws@thedh.org, which will ensure they will be targeted in upcoming programs.
